FREE TUNE ALERT: Nexx the Bassline (Plaza de Funk remash)

I love Italy.

I love their language, their food, their culture. And at the moment, i have to say i LOVE their music :)

These last few month, Italian producers are on fire. Gigi Barocco, Congorock, Mowgli, Riva Starr… and of course Plaza de Funk. He has been very quiet these last few month, mainly cos the breaks scene is not as activ as before. But he’s still here, waiting for his revenge :)

bass music and global bassI’m very pleased to announce that my remix of Benjamin Vial’s EMPIRE is out now on Ape, Ben & Lex’s record label. It’s now available in all good digital record stores.

It features 2 original tracks from French quality breaks producer Benjamin Vial (check his myspace here) and remixes from breaks icon Vandal, french fidget specialist Hi!Population & myself.

My refix is a electro house track with balkan influences. It makes heavy damages everytime i play this one in clubs…

some quotes about RAW remixes…

/10 – Some choice producers get their hands on the parts from different tracks from Flore’s new album ‘Raw’, with Gella excelling with ‘Get It In Get It On’ featuring Rodney P. Gella weaves a duly raw beats lattice around da riddim killer’s commanding vox for a brilliant bashy bonanza, while Hackman’s funky reimagining of ‘Raw’ is fresh and fly. The album’s cover of ‘Cars’ by Gary Numan is itself quite UK funky, so Flore tuffens it up here, and Maelstrom makes it a mahoosive electro-house affair.

IDJ – sept. issue
Gella remix is the bomb. Absolutely firing stuff from the number one badboy on the breakbeat scene!

Mixmag – 8 out of 10 – all top dollar mixes.. good works

Tilllate - Aug. issue     SINGLE OF THE MONTH
Gella has a real talent with vocals. Loved his remix of Baobinga & I.D ‘Jump Up’ and his own single ‘Twinkle’. Here, Gella delivers the goods with a bass heavy bouncy, bashment-jungle styled break-step remix of ‘Get It In Get It On’ featuring Rodney P, complete with a delicious half speed dubstep breakdown and lush chords. Gella is gonna be big! UK Funky don Hackman, turns in an effortless and super slick piece of sublime urban musicality with his remix of ‘Cars’. Having trained classically as a youngster it is very apparent from his meticulous and sexy production that he knows his onions! Maelstrom, the man of many genre faces, puts on his 4/4 urban house head for his sleazy reworking of ‘Cars’. Flore’s remix of ‘Cars’ sees tropical beats and parping b lines. 10/10

Quotes about RAW, Flore’s first album

Quotes about RAW Flore's first album

bass music and global bass I’ve uploaded the press document about the album, cos there was so much reviews i had to prouve it aaha

so if you wanna have a look of what people said about RAW, here it is.

Anyway, i can’t resist to put some samples here…

TILLATE Album of the month – august issue

DJ MAG « Like the best current bass music it’s a mongrel of styles, but by resisting hte urge to slavishly follow the rounte of either dubstep or future garage, Flore creates her own distinctive & forward thinking opus. »

IDJ « Flower power never had so much fire »

ATM « Summing up, ‘Raw’ is fuelled with fun and the kind of exciting bass music that’s been organically making its way out of the underground dance music scene for some time now. Simultaneously capturing what’s popular, and what’s classic about this styles, Flore has crafted an absolute killer album; buy it! »

DATA TRANSMISSION « A versatile release, bass mechanics explored without forgetting the album’s common causes, and something you can both show off to as well as tacitly going about your wilin’ out. 8/10″

BLUES & SOUL « When compared to the other dance albums out at the moment Raw is way above them all. Probably because it isn’t merely just a dance album, its far more than that, there are so many little elements to maintain the listeners interest throughout. »

GENERATION BASS « RAW, a MASTERPIECE! Ok Flore’s new album Raw is out now.  It’s been on my player for the past few weeks non-stop.It’s a great dance album, one of the best I’ve heard this year thus far.  It contains everything you want from a dance album and more.  Not a weak track in sight and such a wide variety of styles and genres, Breaks, Hip Hop, Tropical, Dancehall, Fidget, House, Dubstep, Experimental, Kuduro-esque beats and pure Bass music.I gotta say, man I’m very impressed cause it far exceeded my expectations, not that I ever considered Flore a lightweight at all.  It’s just that as with most dance albums, they’re usually quite disappointing and very patchy. »

MJ ColeA delicious blend of UK musics. This is an exciting time for music and Flore is leading the way with energetic production and an impressive list of collaborations.

DJ Fenster « Inventive, inspired, energetic, clever, danceable and absolutely addictive. Viva la Undergound, Viva la France. Viva la Flore!!!! »

Flore – the FEEL e.p. feat. Shunda K, with Peo de Pitte & Caper remixes

Flore feat. Shunda K « The FEEL ep » released on Botchit & Scarper in december 2009

includes: Feel me / Feel me (Peo de Pitte rmx)/FDB/FDB (Caper remix)

DJ supports from the LOOSE CANONS, DANIEL HAAKSMAN, JOYCE MUNIZ, PHIL HARTNOLL (Orbital), PLUMP DJS, NAPT to name a few.

Here are some quotes… and good ones ;)

DJ mag

In advance of her new album, Botchit drop the latest from French DJ/producer Flore. Really liking how Flore has been mining a MIA/Rye Rye tip of late, a sassy vocal from Shunda K carrying this atop sparse Mehdi/Diplo-style hipster production. Peo De Pitte retains some of the sparseness in his breaks rework, using some of the methods he so dextrously employed in his ‘Room Is Spinning Quickly’ release in the summer as Haggstrom. It’s a bit fidgety, a bit broken, but most of all, pretty amazing in the offbeat techniques he employs. Ghetto-fly grimey bass-step cut ‘FDB’, meanwhile, brings Flyy Git along for the ride. 4.5/5

MIXMAG

Flore takes the roof off!!
If you’re not already on the Peo bandwagon, you’re late. After a storming 2009, Peo De Pitte makes a welcome return this year with another big-ass warehouse remix which kicks harder than ever before. For some tip-top funky hip-hop, the original’s essential; Shunda K’s offers one of her best sleazy city rhymes to date.
5/5

IDJ - Single of the month

TILLATE - 10/10 Single of the Month

Night Times Birmingham
Flore’s back once again with another release from her debut album « Raw » and once again its makes the chartage! There’s 4 tracks on this e.p with a dubstep remix of the FTB track from Caper, and a deliciously sleazy track called « Feel Me » with accompanying remix from Peo de Pitte. All of the above has the very talented Shunda K on the vox and the FTB track also sports some nice interwining lines from the man like Fly Gitt. Flore’s production is as fine as always, and this FTB track mashes up one dirty bassline with some serious dancehall inspired breaks and those choice hip hop style vocals. Another floor filler from Flore.
